Update from Honey Bear’s Foster: “Honey Bear is very sweet and gentle. She does very well on a leash, doesn’t pull at all, but likes to either be right beside or a little behind you. She is a bit timid but is very open to people. If she is uncomfortable or unsure, she cowers or walks away and is not reactive. She enjoys being around other dogs, but needs time to acclimate and can get nervous if a dog gets too friendly too fast. She’s great with my female dog who is about her size. She doesn’t play much with her but she is very mild mannered and super chill. She makes a great house pet, especially for a lower activity or quieter family. She does have some crate anxiety but did well with a frozen stuffed toy as a distraction. Overall, she is amazing pup and I would hands down long term foster her if needed.”

Honey Bear’s Story
Honey Bear is the sugar-sweet Shepherd Mix momma to the beautiful ‘BearPups’ you may have seen in our social media. They came to us November 2018. All have all been adopted but Mom proved to be very allusive! We didn’t get our hands on her until January 2019! We have her safe now so the streets are far behind her!
Once we got her back to Grace, Doc was able to determine that she had a bamboo stalk stuck between her teeth in the roof of her mouth that created ulcers. Luckily, Honey Bear tested negative for heartworms, so they were able to perform her spay surgery right away.
Not all behaviors have been tested yet but we have a suspicion she’s pretty friendly to all she encounters.
