Nellie - On Adoption Trial
Foster Update: “Nellie is as sweet as they come. She has a playful, goofy personality when she warms up to you (which takes a total of like 5 minutes!). She has been introduced to/lives with other dogs (older and other puppies), cats, toddlers, kids, and adults. We are working on increasing her confidence in new public scenarios as she is still a little nervous in public places. She loves baths, treats, kisses, and ear scratches. She rides perfectly in the car, and does very well in her crate and also does well being left out alone in a room as long as there isn’t any yummy stuff to chew on! Nellie has the most adorable ears that stand straight up when she sits and looks up at you, and the tips of them flip over when she’s resting.“
More about her from her foster: She has tons of puppy energy, but she is always down to take a break and cuddle! Does well in a car, Likes toys, Playful, Affectionate, Goofy Comfortable on a leash but is still nervous going new places.
Nellie was born on the street to feral parents. She started out as part of a litter of nine but only four remain. They came to us underweight, full of worms and nearly naked from mange.
They've been dewormed, gotten their shots and started medicated baths to get rid of the mange. They're getting proper meals and lots and lots of love.
Several of our social media followers said they look just like baby elephants so we named them accordingly!
Nellie is named for a song about an elephant who says goodbye to the circus. You know we love songs!
