Female 🔸  Better With No Children 🔸  Prefers to be the Only Pup 🔸  House Broken 🔸 Crate Trained 🔸 Last Weigh-in: 70 lbs 🔸 Approximate DOB: 2/7/2018

Foster Update 11/2020: Stormy prefers to be the only pup.

Foster Update 7/2020: While Stormy is kid-friendly, she would thrive best in a home with older children (11 years + up).

Medical Update 4/20/2020: Stormy has been spayed and completed her heartworm treatment. She is all ready for her forever home.

Foster Update 2/2020: Stormy's foster says she is highly trainable and very smart. She does well in a car, likes to fetch and loves her toys. He also describes her as obedient, playful, affectionate, and goofy.

Foster Update 11/2019: Stormy is super sweet, but when she gets excited, she gets a little mouthy. We are working on it, but it is a work in progress. She has not had an accident in the house and is really well crate trained. It's hard to gauge her true energy level because she is heart worm positive. She is super smart and has learned her name, sit, come, down and bed in a matter of three weeks. She will be a great family dog, not to mention she is a wonderful guard dog. She has a deep ferocious bark, but little do they know, she would kill them with kisses.

Stormy is house trained and crate trained. She is moderately active and it is unknown how she would do with cats.

Stormy’s Story

Everyone welcome Stormy!

October 7th in Memphis was rough. We had experienced incredibly hot temperatures for the prior month and no rain. Literally NO RAIN for 3 + weeks. On this night, it rained almost 5 inches. It was the kind of storm that sneaks up on you - the sky opens up with rain, and next thing you know, the streets are flooded. The sky lit up all night long with lightning. And thunder. Rolls of thunder from far away and then blasts that woke up the whole house. This went on for several hours throughout the night and into the early morning hours.

That being the case, we were absolutely devastated when our volunteer that reads the intake emails (yes, everyone at Streetdog Foundation is a volunteer) opened up the first email and saw this picture. This sweet pup, who had recently given birth, was abandoned in a wire crate that night. Our hearts were shattered when we realized that she was left outside with no cover. No protection from the torrential downpour. No one to comfort or love her while the storms rumbled on all night. She was dumped with nothing but this crate and the tattered collar around her neck.
We were full. Every foster in our program had a foster pup (or two or three) in their home. We even had several dogs in boarding. But we had to say yes to this amazing girl. We had to have a chance to prove to her that not all humans are bad and that she is worthy of love.

She received a full checkup by ‘Doc’ at Grace Animal Hospital. This sweet girl tested positive for heartworms and had never been spayed. Well, we are on top of it and getting her healthy! As soon as those nasty heartworms are gone, this girl will be ready to settle into her forever home! Forever Safe. Forever Loved. Forever Dry.
